Adam Vakar.

Software engineer focused on backend systems and applied AI.

I’m a third-year software student at TUS Athlone. I spent summer 2026 as a software engineering intern at Ericsson R&D and received a return offer. Now I’m looking for a 2027 internship in software engineering or machine learning.

Return offer received

I worked on internal tooling and test automation for Cloud RAN: Python agent tooling, Java test utilities, and migrating test suites that run against physical radio hardware.

  • Python · migration tooling

    20% fewer incorrect migrations

I added validation checks and transformation improvements to an internal agent-based migration pipeline, so bad output was caught before it reached the next stage.

  • Java · test framework

    Flaky waits replaced

I replaced hardcoded Thread.sleep() calls with one reusable polling utility. Tests now wait for a condition with a timeout, which removed a recurring cause of random failures.

  • Python · agent orchestration

    Adopted across the department

I was selected for a small team building an orchestrator for about five coordinated agents. It replaced a manual multi-step workflow and became the department’s standard.

I also wrote test classes and shared helpers to migrate legacy Cloud RAN validation suites, fixed two defects in the test framework, and set up a review with its owners to resolve the rest.

About

I build things to understand how they break.

GoBank started with a question: what does a customer see if the database dies halfway through a transfer? Most of my projects start with a question like that. I build the system, break it on purpose, and measure what happens.

I also like building with other people. I founded the Computer Science Society at TUS, which now has over 40 members and runs workshops, member projects and small hackathons. I started a community of over 100 Ukrainian students in Ireland, and I’m the elected class representative for my year.

Away from code, I write novellas.
